Meet
Travis Owen
Travis Owen was raised in a farming family with deep roots in agriculture, where hard work and respect for the land were a way of life. From an early age, he was immersed in the outdoors—running the scales, mining clay on the family farm, fishing creeks, squirrel hunting, and building dams as a homeschooled kid who spent more time outside than in. That foundation carried into his school years, where he was active in FFA and helped take his forestry team to the state level. His passion for the outdoors ran deep—so much so that he even stepped away from track to spend more time chasing spring turkeys.
Today, Travis brings that same passion and firsthand experience to his work as a Land Specialist. He and his wife actively raise cattle alongside her family, who operate in the earthmoving industry—installing septic systems, clearing land, and building ponds—giving Travis a practical understanding of land development and improvement. His family background is equally rooted in rural living: his parents raise goats and sheep, one brother hauls logs and grain, and another specializes in low-stress, on-farm butchering. His father, who raised hunting and stock dogs and owned a sporting goods store for a decade, now works as a crop insurance adjuster and conducts drone crop inspections across the country.
Before real estate, Travis spent years as a traveling pipe fitter, working in nuclear, natural gas, and polyethylene plants across states like Texas, Kansas, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Missouri. Along the way, he gained a unique perspective on different landscapes, ecosystems, and land uses—while also taking every opportunity to hunt and learn from the people he met. He also spent time working for a potato and barley farm in Colorado’s San Luis Valley, further expanding his agricultural experience.
In his early 20s, Travis hosted an outdoor podcast and continued to stay deeply connected to the hunting and conservation community. He’s an avid hunter who believes in giving back more than he takes—focusing on habitat improvement and reducing invasive species to better the land for future generations.
Through 4-H, Travis had the opportunity to attend the NRA Whittington Center Adventure Camp in Raton, New Mexico—an experience that shaped his love for the outdoors and introduced him to lifelong friends from across the country. He later returned as a counselor, helping teach the next generation about firearm safety, outdoor skills, American history, and conservation.
With a lifetime of hands-on experience in farming, hunting, and land management, Travis understands that buying or selling land is more than just a transaction—it’s a legacy. He takes pride in helping clients find the right property for their goals, whether that’s farming, hunting, investing, or building a future for their family.
